A stunning, elegant red from the volcanic Canary Island of Tenerife. Made from a field blend of red and white indigenous grape varieties, some from very ancient vines up to 150 years old. This complex red has aromas and flavours of wild berries, tomato leaves, black olive, white pepper and has a very long, silky finish. If you love Nebbiolo from the Coste della Sessia or Valetellina, this is the wine for you.

Porseleinberg is the result of Marc Kent’s search for the best Syrah grapes, a journey that inevitably took him to the Swartland. It was here that Kent found an isolated and windswept wine farm perched atop the Porseleinberg mountain. The site is now recognised as one of the greatest Syrah vineyards in the world.

Produced in the teeth of what Callie Louw calls a "crazy year", with lots of winter rain and one of the hottest Januarys ever, this is the latest in a series of world-class Syrahs from the brilliant Callie Louw. Fermented and aged in foudres and 15% concrete, using the submerged cap technique that has transformed the style here, this has 95% whole bunches, fynbos and Mediterranean herb aromas, sculpted, detailed tannins and layers of plum, blackberry and raspberry and impressive freshness for a wine with a pH of 4.1. A refined wine from a brutal site.

Drinking 2025-40

This delicious English sparkling wine is pretty much equal quantities of Chardonnay , Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier with 15% Reserve Wine from previous vintages going right back to 2010.

It was disgorged in late 2021 after four years on the lees. It still has plenty of room for development and will continue to improve for five or more years.

Carema is high on the northern border of the alpine region Aosta in northern Piedmont. It is made of Nebbiolo grown on glacial soil in this high altitude region which creates powerful, perfumed wines with delicate fruit. 

Luigi Ferrando's Carema white label, the Nebbiolo is fermented in steel tanks with a 10 day maceration. The wine then spends 30 months in oak barrels. 

Elegant, spicy, fruity notes with fine  aromas of dried flowers and roses. On the palate it has a round, tannic mouthfeel with warmth and minerals on the finish.

Amphora wines are in fashion these days and are produced all over the world. While making wines in amphora (qvevri) may have originated in Georgia , it is Portugal that has the world’s only appellation dedicated to wines made in amphora. In Alentejo, these vessels go by the name “talha”. It is derived from the Latin word “Tinalia” which refers to a large pot or vessel. 

Portuguese wine from amphora in Alentejo dates back to Roman times, around 2000 years ago. Although the traditions have persisted in the region, it’s only recently that the wines have had a commercial renaissance. Many of the wineries, big and small, have added Vinho de Talha wines to their portfolio.

Wow, we love this wine, and not just for it's pretty label! On the nose: creamy black cherry, wood smoke, dried rose petal, incense, wild spice. Inzuzo means benefit in two of the main South African languages Zulu and Xhosa. The Inzuzo Wine Company is a BEE project spearheaded by Journey's End wines in Stellenbosch and run by one of their talented winemakers, Kaylin Willscott. Kaylin grew up in the poverty stricken Sir Lowry's Pass area. Kaylin's story is integral to the heart of the Inzuzo brand. As a Cape Wine Guild protégée and one of the few women of colour winemakers in South Africa, her journey is a powerful narrative of talent, determination, and community upliftment in South Africa.

A fresh, zesty and tropical nose of limes, guava, nectarine, apricot and hints of almond blossom leads to a richly textured palate, has superb length, balance and plenty of finesse. Bright and zippy on the finish.
