Albarino

Albariño (“alba-reen-yo”) comes originally from Spain but now it can also be found in Portugal where it`s called Alvarinho. This grape would have notes of lemon zest, grapefruit, honeydew, nectarine, saline. The wines would be dry, light in body and with high acidity.

Food to pair with Albarino: white fish and meats as well as leafy green herbs (lighter meats, fish, and seafood, soft cheeses like burrata, or semi-hard cheeses such as manchego, gouda and salty feta, green herbs, like salsa verde, Spanish tapas, grilled vegetable dishes, caprese, or even Caesar salad.

Cellar Door Wines has Albarino from Ukraine that`s not very easy to find.
