The Scalasaig ‘Island Hopper’ takes its name from the port village on the Isle of Colonsay where our company has its brewery/micro-distillery/headquarters.

The Scalasaig ‘Island Hopper’ evokes a journey of discovery, setting out to source the finest casks of mature single malt from distilleries around the Scottish islands and coastlines.

These aged peated whiskies, selected from the Orkney isles right down to Islay, are vatted together and filled into fresh first-fill Spanish sherry oak casks to create an expertly crafted and perfectly balanced smoky-sweet Scotch
Only ever produced in small batches of 3,000 bottles, the
‘Maiden Voyage’ was released in September 2019!

Full of early-1990s complex Jura “funk” with notes of ripe fruits, camphor oil, sea salt, damp dunnage warehouse, cigar box and muscovado sugar.

Non chill filtered at 46.0 ABV%.

Years in ex-bourbon and port wine casks have imparted a mesmerising array of bizarre notes. Fragrant lavender, vetiver and incense candles tumble into rich almond nuttiness. Deeper notes such as damp peat and wood smoke introduce a daring double act of creosote and tar, before leather and minty chocolate leap across to sweet pear crumble and salted caramel fudge.

A rich and complex Ardbeg, with the smoke softened by the Marsala casks giving aromas and flavours of apricot, date and raisin.

Non chill filtered at 47.8 ABV%.

Matured in Marsala and Bourbon barrels
