Located in the quintessential txakoli town of Getaria overlooking the Bay of Biscay, Akarregi Txiki is an extremely traditional winery which has been making wine in this farmhouse for generations. Fermented in stainless steel vats and left on lees with for minimum 3 months. Bottled with some residual CO2 pressure to give it the characteristic spritz. Crisp and delicate with hints of lemon leaves, lime and salty freshness, complimented by a delicate spritz.

Fresh and zesty aromas with notes of almond skin, fennel and even a little jasmine. A bright natural acidity on the palate with a teasing top note of grassy fennel, almond nuttiness and the residual salinity of an old dry grown vineyard. Drink slowly to take all this in.

Wonderful, fresh, but textured white made from Biodynamically grown grapes and with minimal intervention in the winery. Citrus, white flowers and stone fruits on the nose, creamy and rounded on the palate from the time spent on it's lees. Lively, zesty finish.

One of the most unique and long-lived white wines in the world. A blend of indigenous grapes Obaideh and Merwah, with a deep golden colour and honeyed aromas, full of tropical fruits; pineapple, banana with warm, toasty creamy notes. Pale golden colour with aromas of pear, lemon zest and apple and vanilla on the nose. Hints  of lemon, orange with good body, concentration and mouthfeel , tangy acidity with ripe fruit.

The very scarce 2015 vintage is clean and pure with a lovely vibrant energy. It is a stunning example of the indigenous Merwah grape with its origins in the mountains of Lebanon – it is a rare light skinned grape variety, closely related to Semillon in Bordeaux and gives wines of great ageing potential and elegance.

Intense savoury nose with notes of dried citrus peel, marmalade, brown spice and almond skin. Full flavoured and textural on the palate with flavours of apricot kernel and fruit peel followed by a fine bitter orange finish.

Food match: 

The grapes are sorted, de-stemmed and crushed. Fermentation process started with juice still on the grape skins, whereafter the wine was left on the grape skins for a further 6 months. The clear wine was then racked, blended and bottled.

A brilliant Petit Chablis - ripe and untouched by oak. Showing all the characteristics of the terroir, as well as lemony freshness and vivacity, underpinned by tight minerality.

Bright, light straw colour. Fragrant, fresh spring flowers on the nose and fresh fruit-driven palate of green apple, pear, white peach and grapefruit. Dry, crisp, and mineral, with a slight saline, bitterness to the finish which is typical of Vernaccia di San Gimignano. The fruit/mineral balance is so delicious! Very long, clean and precise.

The wine is made using classic technology from Rkatsiteli, Mtsvane, Khikhvi and Kisi grape varieties grown in the Tsinandali microzone, Kakheti, Georgia. The aroma is lively and bright. The wine is dry, full-bodied, characterized by minerality, balanced acidity, hints of oak and a long finish. Recommended serving temperature: 10 to12 °C

Wonderfully fragrant with notes of pithy stone fruits, bight jasmine and honeysuckle. The palate follows through with a richness of fruit including ripe peach and apricot. The finish is given finesse by the refreshing acidity.

This delightful orange wine is made of mostly Muscat with a touch of Semillon. It makes for a beautifully fresh and bright wine with bold notes of apricot, candied lemon and a touch of sea salt and nuts for that lovely fresh bite. The 10 days on skins gives a chewy wine gum notes with fine tannin to coat the palate and an oxidative nutty finish. Fresh and complex, making a fantastic gastronomic South African wine.

Stellenbosch, this famous region, is 30 miles north east of Cape Town yet still close enough to the ocean to benefit from cool maritime conditions. These beautiful vineyards are dominated by scenic mountains and the region is home to some of the Cape`s most famous and influential wine estates. The most noted and important vineyards are located on the prized slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain. This small and highly rated sub-zone has fantastic terroir and is where many of South Africa`s top red cuvees are produced.

Angus Paul had their first vintage in 2020, creating wines with a focus on South African Heritage, using Chenin, Muscat and Pinotage soon expanding with Cinsault. The wines are made with minimal intervention to make quality wines that truly express the varieties characteristics. The labels are inspired by the ‘Age of exploration’ when the South African wine industry was founded, with graphics of superstitious tales from exploratory sailors.

An aromatic dry white wine from Ukraine. The grape variety Sukholimansky is a local grape to Ukraine, it`s a cross of Chardonnay and Plavay (a Moldovan grape). This wine is fruit-driven, aromatic and fresh. The notes of mango, pear and tropical fruit.

From the Elgin region, South Africa's coolest and best areas for white wine making. 

Stylish and Burgundian with lime and lemon undertones. Bright citrus, oyster shell minerality, and a hint of almonds and biscuit brioche on the finish. Beautiful floral notes and bright fresh acidity persist.

In early 1997, Andrew Gunn, an engineer by training was contemplating his next career move. Having always loved the outdoors, the prospect of farming appealed to him and feeling young and energetic enough to start a new career, left the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg to begin the search for the ‘perfect’ farm.

After months of searching and 40 farm visits later, Andrew and a very tired estate agent stumbled upon a solitary run down apple farm on a mountain top overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The prospect of a suitable farm in Elgin intrigued Andrew and on driving through the valley, he became excited by the beauty of the area. Surrounded by the Kogelberg Biosphere and Forestry the property had no agricultural neighbours. The rolling hills and the drive up the mountain to where the farm was situated, 420 meters above sea level, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, was unlike anything he had ever seen. It was love at first sight.

As he drove in and stopped in front of a rather run down Herbert Baker homestead, he felt, “this is where I would like to live”, and the view from the front of the house overlooking the Elgin Valley below, made up his mind.

Fresh citrus aromas with lots of green apple and a herbaceous finish. A fresh but full and smooth mouth feel with a crisp finish.

Piekenierskloof is in the Citrusdal Mountains, about 50 kilometers north of the Swartland, which provides the perfect natural environment for vineyards to thrive.

Piekenierskloof Wine

At 750 meters above sea level, the plateau’s climate is characterised by warm days and cool nights, which allow grapes to slowly ripen and develop complex fruit flavours. Ungrafted bush vines planted in the 1950’s are still used in the production of Piekenierskloof Wine Company’s range of wines.

Grapes are sourced from vineyards predominantly in the Piekenierskloof region. These are bush vineyards and grow on koffieklip and sandy loam soils. Vineyards are planted in 1987. Harversting takes place middle to end of February.

Gorgeous, ripe white peach and lime with subtle toasted hazelnut characters. The palate is rich, textural and layered with a long, mineral finish.

The estate winery "Kolonist" was founded by the Plachkov family in 2005 in Bessarabia,
Ukraine. Named in honour of Bulgarian colonists who came to these lands over 200 years ago. The winery started with 30,000 bottles of wine on the market, today it produces 350,000 bottles, which include classic aged reds and whites, Haut de Gamme wines, sparkling wine "Bisser" by classic method, semi-dry and sweet wines. In addition, Kolonist makes grape seed oil, two types of balsamic vinegar and some cosmetics.

Superb. Organically farmed, vegetarian white from Lisbon. A field blend of old vines mainly Fernao Pires white. Golden yellow colour. On the nose shows notes of apricots and honey, vegetable and sweet spice. Medium bodied with great texture. Fruity and spicy on the palate, with a long finish.

Scrumptious, complex white wine. Distinct aromas of ripe pineapple, passionfruit and a hint of toasted sesame. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, yet fresh and zesty.  This wine will evolve nicely over a few years, although it's so delicious now, it will be hard to resist drinking immediately.

Pale lemon-yellow with hints of green, it has intense aromas of pineapple, green grass, white flowers and a flinty touch. It is dry and refreshing on the palate with a long citrussy finish and concentrated flavours.

One could easily confuse this with Riesling because of its petrol aromas on the nose. Wonderful tropical notes with a subtle creamy finish. Wow, we love this wine!

Pale lemon colour, the Rótulo Branco is crisp and aromatic with aromas of blossom and pear. On the palate it has good body, a silky texture and a citrusy acidity providing a great backbone. Fruity notes and hints of fresh herbs accompany its long finish.

Pale yellow wine. It is floral on the nose and shows citrus notes. It is very fresh in the mouth, with fruity character, tasty and with a balanced acidity.

Food Match: Tapas, appetizers and starters, soft cheeses, and nuts. Its particular flavour is a good pairing to fish and seafood, smoked salads, rice and vegetables.

The grapes are immediately separated from the stalk. After light pressing, the must is racked and clarified to proceed with fermentation for 15/20 days at a
controlled temperature between 10 and 16°C. This will allow us to maintain the fruity character of the wine. Subsequently, the alcohol has been extracted using an innovative procedure that preserves the organoleptic properties of the wine.

Rich, citrus, lime and almond nose. The ripe and fleshy palate. Creamy mouthfeel with the lime acidity and a super-long, elegant finish.
