Utterly unique. Using the process traditionally used to create fino, this wine is kept for 8 months beneath a veil of flor (a light covering of yeast) in wooden barrels. Fresh, saline and minerality combined with citrus, green apple and toasted bread. Really, bloody
good.

Delicate stone fruit aromas with zesty lemon and floral notes. The palate has bright citrus peel and peach characters, an appealing texture and minerality, fresh acidity and a gently savoury finish.

From a cool, high altitude (390m) monopole vineyard, this is a fresher take on the 2020 vintage compared to most. A crunchy and aromatic Pinot Noir with layers of redcurrant and cranberry intertwined with some darker mulberry fruit and well integrated oak. Lovely to drink now or over the next 5 to 8 years.

Domaine Regnard’s Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc is 100% Chardonnay, grown on clay limestone soils rich in iron oxide, lending mineral tension and structure. Hand-harvested fruit undergoes fermentation and full malolactic conversion in oak, with 12 months’ ageing (40% new) followed by three months in stainless steel.

Complex, dark and brooding full bodied red from the Douro. Firm and structured with notes of sweet spice, black cherries and chocolate.

This wine has an attractive shiny light ruby colour. It is both refined and very bright on the nose and palate. It opens to aromas of red fruits and berries. Its silky tannins support the balance of a wine, such that it can be kept for some time (5 to 7 years) while remaining pleasant in its youth.

Pinot Noir is the heritage of Red Burgundy. The pinot noir grape was born in Burgundy and has carried the name since 1375. Pinot Noir is the hereditary source to all of the great red wines from Burgundy vineyards. Pinot Noir is jealously desired, but it is fragile and it requires very careful care during its vegetative period.

Delicious, dry amber wine made in traditional Georgian Qvervri. An aromatic nose of citrus blossom, dried apricots and almonds. On the palate there are hints of burnt orange rind and dried peach, structured with soft tannins and a long finish.

Shilda Winery is located in the Alazani River Valley at the foot of the Caucasus mountains, the heartland of Georgian wine producing region, Kakheti. Its unique soil composition and microclimate provides perfect conditions for vine cultivation, especially for indigenous grape varieties like Saperavi, Kisi and Rkatsiteli. 

Aromas of citrus zest, green apples, pear and white flowers. Beautifully balanced on the palate with fresh citrus, spice, toasted almonds and freshly baked brioche. Yeasty and complex with a long, dry finish.

The blend is composed of signature white varieties from each property: Semillon, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, and Viognier. Semillon, matured in oak, provides structure and age-worthiness-drawing on Boekenhoutskloof's long-standing reputation for this grape. Old bush vine Chenin Blanc from the Swartland adds depth, texture and opulence, while cool-climate Chardonnay brings lift and precision. Viognier lends a subtle aromatic richness.

Tim Atkin's review: A new addition to the consistently impressive Boekenhoutskloof range, this is a pan-regional blend of Swartland Chenin Blanc complemented by 24% Chardonnay, 19% Semillon and 4% Viognier from elsewhere. Inspired by the whites of the southern Rhône, it's stony, savoury and lightly wooded, with aromas of laurel, thyme and white flowers and a palate of pear, citrus, peach and wet stones. Fresh and zesty nose with notes of citrus, peach, and a hint of honeysuckle. The palate is lightly honeyed and textural with ripe lemon characters balanced by crisp acidity, and with a touch of white spice and a fresh, mineral finish.

Vegan

80% of the must is fermented in stainless steel at 16/18 °C and 20% in lightly toasted tonneau. Fermentation lasts 15 days and is followed by 8 months on the lees, and a further 2 months in bottle before release.

20% of the wine is aged in barrels for 5 months to give extra complexity. Straw yellow, with an intense nose of pink grapefruit and lemon, with hints of spice and bread crust. The mouthfeel is round, full of ripe fruit and a slight smokiness which gives a long and fresh finish.

The finish is dry, refreshing and beautifully balanced, and incredibly open for a young Alsace Riesling.
