The aromas are confirmed on the palate: tannic but balanced by the alcohol, full body, intense flavours, very pleasant.

Made from Riesling grapes cultivated in Poderi Colla's Cascine Drago Estate in Alba. The vineyard faces west-northwest and is around 350 metres above sea level. The vines were planted in 1987. Vine density is 4,000 plants per hectare and average yield is 5,000 litres per hectare. The hand-selected Riesling grapes are soft-pressed and allowed to settle at 8 to 10 degrees C for 24 hours. The must is then fermented in stainless steel at a controlled temperature of 22 degrees C maximum. This is followed by a partial malolactic fermentation and the wine is left on the lees for a few months. Finally, the wine is cooled and clarified before being bottled in the spring.

We are excited to have in stock a few bottles of I Sodi di S. Niccolò 2017, which marks the 40th anniversary of this iconic wine by Castellare di Castellina.

The flagship wine of Castellare di Castellina - a superb example of Sangiovese at it's very, very best. Very intense and concentrated, with aromas of wild berries, cherry and sweet spice, aged for 30 months in barrel. Wow!

Carema is a small appellation near Turin, producing Nebbiolo at very high altitudes.

Produttori del Carema is a cooperative which was originally founded in 1960 with less than 12 producers. Well known for producing high quality wines, today their numbers have risen to 81 due to their huge success.

Fresh and floral nose with aromas of nutmeg, white pepper, herbs, citrus, white fruit. elegant and balanced palate with a long, rounded finish.

The Kerner grape is an aromatic white grape variety. It was bred in 1929 by August Herold by crossing Trollinger and Riesling. The grape is named after Justinus Kerner, a 19th century German poet who often wrote about wine.

Bright, light straw colour. Fragrant, fresh spring flowers on the nose and fresh fruit-driven palate of green apple, pear, white peach and grapefruit. Dry, crisp, and mineral, with a slight saline, bitterness to the finish which is typical of Vernaccia di San Gimignano. The fruit/mineral balance is so delicious! Very long, clean and precise.
