The Kalkofen vineyard is located on the western edge of the town of Deidesheim, which is in the heart of the Palatinate wine growing area. The name of the vineyard, Kalkofen, is an old limestone-brick oven in the middle-ages. There is a high content of limestone in this part of the area, which gives a lot of minerality to the vines and is noticeable in the fine wines produced from these Grand Cru (Grosse Lage) vineyards.

The 'Clos de Bellecroix' site borders Chagny and faces gently north meaning it’s almost always the last vineyard to be picked. Classic violet and cherry nose. Tightly knit structure, with a seductive mix of crunchy red and black fruits and a touch of balsamic. Lots of aging potential. Drink 2024 to 2030

Achleiten is a legendary vineyard in the Wachau village of Weissenkirchen. It is famous for wines with inimitable mineral character. Dry stone walls dating back to the 12th century. The silicate-rich soil commands this vineyard’s landscape. On the upper terraces, gneiss is the prevailing subsoil, the lower terraces are dominated by dark, schistous amphibolites.

The Domäne Wachau is deeply rooted in the Wachau region of Austria. Close to 440 hectares of vineyards are cultivated by the members of this quality-oriented cooperative – that makes 30 percent of the entire Wachau vineyard area. These vineyards are found on steep terraces reinforced by old dry stone walls and are part of a World Cultural Heritage. This famous Northern Italian Piemontese white grape Timorasso has found a new home in the Ukrainian Black Sea region.

Concentrated, floral, fruity, with a warmth on the palate. Soft, elegant, yet intense. Very typical of Timorasso, mineral with notes of chamomile flower,  yellow plums, and toasted almond in the finish. Lovely!

The Biscardo Family have been making wine from their base in Soave for over 150 years and the operations are currently led by brothers Maurizio and Martino Biscardo. Renowned for their Proseccos and Corvina based reds in particular, they are also involved in a fascinating project in Puglia. During the course of Maurizio's long and illustrious career, he has consulted for well known wineries around Italy and in doing so he came across the vineyards that provide the grapes for their Puglian wines. Both the Pugliese and Veneto wines are characterised by a dangerous drinkability, aromatic purity and exceptional value for money.

Undicicomuni" refers to the 11 (undici) communes (comuni) that make up the Barolo appellation, the Nebbiolo grapes for this wine come from across all 11 communes. Fermentation and maceration takes place for three weeks in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. Then there is 26 months of aging in large wooden casks followed by a further 6 months in concrete tanks.

The ‘Aperitif’ of the Maison Montanaro originated a secret recipe studied and put into practice by our Master Distiller. In fact, this allows us to have a bright red tones without using chemical dyes, only natural plant extracts such as red apple, radish, cherry, carrot and sweet potato are used. The balance and unmistakable taste is given by citrus essences, herbs and natural aromas.

It is a Typical Italian aperitif perfect for after work, hence the name 6 p.m., in combination with the Vermouth Rosso Montanaro for a classic cocktail typical of the 1970s. Excellent on the rocks with soda.
