Intense red cherry fruit aromas on the nose and palate. This ‘baby Barolo’ is made from Nebbiolo grapes from selected sites in the Langhe region giving a delicious, medium bodied wine  with garnet highlights and a wonderful scent of ripe prunes. This is a really well-balanced wine, rounded and smooth, and expresses the typical characteristics of the Nebbiolo varietal and its terroir. Jable de Tao is winemaker Carmelo Peña's expression of the Lanzarote island. A field blend of four native varieties (Malvasía Volcanica, Listán Blanco, Listán Negro and Diego) from a variety of soils and aspects. Carmelo’s intention is to bottle the nuanced terroirs of Lanzarote under a unique wine. The wine is direct pressed into barrel, concrete tanks and large foudres, where it ferments and ages. The wine has hints of lemony cream on the nose followed by limes and green apples. On the palate, it is textured and creamy with hints of lemon rind and a long, saline, mineral finish.

A very special sparkling from Friuli, north east Italy. Traditional method from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. Aged on the lees for a minimum of 36 months, it offers complex aromas of red fruits and berries with notes of bread and mineral notes of flint and graphite.

On the nose it has creamy black cherry, wood smoke, dried rose petal, incense, wild spice. Pineau des Charentes often referred to as Pineau Charentais or simply Pineau,  is a regional aperitif of western France, made in the areas of Charente, Charente-Maritime, and Dordogne. 
It is a fortified wine/ liqueur, made from either fresh, unfermented grape juice or a blend of lightly fermented grape must, to which a Cognac eau-de-vie is added and then matured.

Fun Fact:  Weissburgunder (/vīs-bur-gūn-dur/) is another grape of the pinot family which originated in Burgundy, France. For that reason, the German word “burgunder” is used to mean pinot in the same sense French and English speakers use it. “Weiss,” like “blanc” in French or “bianco” in Italian, is the German word for the colour white. So Weissburgunder is the German name for Pinot Blanc/Bianco.

Nusbaumer are an independent, family-owned artisanal distillery in heart of the Alsace. Founded by Jos Nusbaumer in 1947, the distillery is located in Stiege, a small town in the Vosge valleys, to the south-west of Strasbourg. There are several factors that make Stiege an ideal place to distil fruit spirits; there’s exceptional mountain spring water, high altitude allowing lower distillation pressure leading to richer aromas, and a microclimate with significant temperature variations that has a positive impact on fermentation, maceration and ageing.

Grapes: Palomino Fino

Bodegas Rey Fernando de Castilla is located in the historic centre of Jerez. Its story began with the aristocratic Andrada-Vanderwilde family, who for two centuries provided grapes and wine for the production of sherry in the area. In 1972 Fernando Andrada-Vanderwilde took over some old sherry cellars and brandy soleras from a couple of local bodegas, and changed the name of the company from Fernando III to Fernando de Castilla.

Grapes are sourced from Fernando de Castilla's partners vineyards in the Jerez district. The soil type is Albariza. Picking takes place in early September. Oloroso typically comes from the second pressing of the grapes or the coarser wines. This wine does not spend any of its life under flor and is fortified in the February after harvest to 18% abv. This is then added to the first Criadera of the Oloroso Solera. The Antique Oloroso is bottled without blending, cold stabilization or filtration of any kind in order to preserve the subtlety, purity and distinctive aromas. On average this wine is 20 years old.

This golden coloured wine has a welcome reductive nose with hints of mineral, gunpowder and stone combined with delicate fruits, citrus and white flowers. Excellent acidity, minerals and herbal touches on the palate this is complex and intense with a lovely long finish.

The wine spent 3 weeks on the skins and was fermented in concrete with minimal interventention. This is a low sulphite wine that is good introduction to the orange wine styles with wonderful texture and tannins.

Bright ruby red in colour. Intensely, fragrant, and floral, with notes of white pepper and wild strawberries on the nose. The palate is fresh and delicate, with great structure and balance. Perfect to chill in the summer if the outside temperature is high.

Pelaverga is not a very widely grown grape variety, native to the Verduno commune in Piemonte. The soil in this area of the North West of Italy is rich in clay and gypsum crystals. Poderi Colla have hand harvested the rare Pelaverga grapes. Sometimes also labelled as 'Basadone' which translates as 'little kiss' the Pelaverga grape is known locally as a supposed aphrodisiac!

Carema is high on the northern border of the alpine region Aosta in northern Piedmont. It is made of Nebbiolo grown on glacial soil in this high altitude region which creates powerful, perfumed wines with delicate fruit. 

Pale ruby to tawny. Complex and elegant nose of small, wild red fruits, forest undergrowth, crushed stones and hints of cinnamon. Weightless palate, light to medium body, refined with lively acidity, noble tannins and a long spicy finish.

A very rare grape variety, mostly found in the Canary Islands, particularly Tenerife. The vines are 'pie franco' or ungrafted ancient specimens that thus far have managed to avoid the dreaded Phylloxera bug which devastated many European vineyards in the 19th century. The wine is complex, concentrated and flinty with aromas of green herbs, apples and quince. 6 months in barrel and on its lees has given the wine a beautiful texture and long, saline finish.
