Dornier is a family owned winery that is situated in the Golden Triangle area of the famous Upper Blaauwklippen Valley in Stellenbosch - their prestigious neighbours are
De Trafford, Keermont and Waterford, so they are in fine company. The property was home to one of the first wineries in Stellenbosch, having been completed in the late 1600s, as well as an historic Sir Herbert Baker home. 

The winemaking philosophy at Dornier is to produce premium quality wines, with minimal intervention in the winery, that are expressive of the unique terroir of the Golden Triangle and showcase the complexity and finesse of the noble grape varietals planted on the farm..

Zero Dosage represents Methode Cap Classique in its purest form, allowing the grape, site and vintage to truly shine. The grapes were sourced from a single vineyard and hand harvested before whole bunch pressing using the champagne method. Post fermentation, the wine is matured on its primary lees for 3 months prior to racking when the wine is then allowed to slowly ferment and mature in the cellar for 12 years prior to disgorgement. The nose invites a vibrant bouquet of peach, almonds and exotic spice, complementing a palate of stone fruit, brioche and a lingering, pleasant mousse.

Food Match: We love this wine for its complexity of aromatics and concentration of flavours on the palate. White fish with fresh asparagus or Samphire is a great pairing.

Complex with notes of kirsch and raspberry, a touch of smoke and sweet spice. The mouth is soft, with melted tannins and a pleasant sensation of roundness.

Utterly unique. Using the process traditionally used to create fino, this wine is kept for 8 months beneath a veil of flor (a light covering of yeast) in wooden barrels. Fresh, saline and minerality combined with citrus, green apple and toasted bread. Really, bloody
good.

Yellow - orange in colour, elegant and bright with a nose of sourdough bread. Dry, cool and  well-balanced with a complex, refined, umami aftertaste. Skin contact wine at it's very best.

The Cirò DOC is a picturesque corner of the Mediterranean, along the Ionian coast, in the eastern foothills of the Calabria region, a large peninsula that forms the toe to Italy’s boot. The Parrilla family, who own and run Tenuta del Conte, have been making wine here for four generations, the latest of which to take over the estate are Mariangela, Giuseppe, and Caterina.

In 2011 Mariangela Parrilla took over as winemaker. Mariangela takes a philosophical approach to winemaking, with the aim to let these traditional indigenous grape varieties speak for themselves and their terroir. Her wines are all organic, no herbicides or chemicals are used at any stage of the production process, she opts for spontaneous fermentations using indigenous yeasts, no filtration, and solely stainless-steel and bottle aging. Taking each wine vintage by vintage she lets them evolve and age “according to their own natural rhythm”, making each wine unique. This could be just one year in bottle before release or over 10 years. Not only does she capture the unique character of the grape variety but that of the vintage it's from too.


Together with a handful of other wineries in the area, Mariangela is part of “The Cirò Revolution”, a group formed to promote and protect their territory’s identity. They are dedicated to organic viticulture and minimal intervention winemaking, they make traditional wines, in homage to their ancestors, from native grape varieties.

Intense, long, persistent, floral, fruity, with a warming sensation on the palate. Soft, elegant, and concentrated. Very typical of Timorasso, mineral with notes of chamomile, ripe yellow plums, and toasted almond in the finish.

We love this hidden gem of a wine. Erbaluce is a grape you've probably never heard of, we're baffled as to why it's not more famous! Fresh, saline and lemon zesty on the nose, the palate is clean, but slightly textured with a hint of wax. The finish is long, minerally and has note of lemon sherbit, in a really grown up kind of way.

The Pfister domaine is located in the village of Dahlenheim in the northern tip of Alsace, just west of Strasbourg. The name “Breit” comes from the “lieu-dit” Hangenbreite, “the wide slope”. It is a steep, marl-limestone hillside, where the three grape varieties making up this wine grow.

A bold inky Graciano, with burst of black current cherry and raspberry with delicious savoury notes of herbs and added depth of cocoa.

COZs is a partnership between two Portuguese wine grape growers, Tiago Teles (Gilda, RAIZ) and António Marques-da-Cruz (Quinta da Serradinha), that started in 2015, in a 60-year-old vineyard of the Baga variety. In 2017, acquired the historic Vinha da Pena in Serra de Montejunto – a limestone formation from the Jurassic period, located 15 km from the Atlantic Ocean, in the Lisbon region. Pioneers in the introduction of organic agriculture as well as new concepts of pruning and soil fertilization in the Serra de Montejunto, we initiated an important transformation of practices and mentalities in mountain viticulture.

The blend is composed of signature white varieties from each property: Semillon, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, and Viognier. Semillon, matured in oak, provides structure and age-worthiness-drawing on Boekenhoutskloof's long-standing reputation for this grape. Old bush vine Chenin Blanc from the Swartland adds depth, texture and opulence, while cool-climate Chardonnay brings lift and precision. Viognier lends a subtle aromatic richness.

Tim Atkin's review: A new addition to the consistently impressive Boekenhoutskloof range, this is a pan-regional blend of Swartland Chenin Blanc complemented by 24% Chardonnay, 19% Semillon and 4% Viognier from elsewhere. Inspired by the whites of the southern Rhône, it's stony, savoury and lightly wooded, with aromas of laurel, thyme and white flowers and a palate of pear, citrus, peach and wet stones. Bright straw yellow colour with golden flecks. On the nose: complex, white floral jasmine notes and minerals. On the palate, it is creamy and savoury, with flavours of ripe pear, herbs and minerality, alongside its crisp acidity.
