Full of orchard fruit and white flowers. The palate is round and well-structured, with lots of white peach wrapped around dried herbs and a savoury, steely backbone.

Amoterra means to ‘love the land’, this is the vineyards ethos. The harvesting period of the Trebbiano starts from the second week of September. As soon as the grapes arrive in the cellar they are crushed and de-stemmed, then softly pressed. Cold maceration for 24 hours at 8 degrees. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel for about 10-15 days.

Umeshu plum fruit soaked in Ginjo-grade sake makes a wonderfully nutty, rich and fruity sake liqueur.

This is a vegan wine with a potential to bottle age. A ripe red wine with the notes of dried herbs, plums and cherry. The tannins are ripe with the flavour of liquorice. A long and complex finish that leads to the notes of orange peel and ripe red fruit.

A delicious, slightly off dry Riesling from New Zealand. Concentrated and waxy, with hints of lime juice, stone-fruit, lychees, pineapple and tropical spices. There's a wonderful minerality and tangy acidity on the long finish.

A wonderful dark red colour, with purple reflections. The bouquet is very expressive with notes of meatiness, black plum skin, bitter and sour cherry, liquorice and chalky notes. It is a wine with beautifully integrated oak, finesse and a very long finish.

Hazel End on vines Muller Thurgau, Huxelrebe and Reichensteiner were planted in 1990-1993, their Bacchus vines were planted in 2009.

Concentrated, dense and full of ripe dark fruit characters, packed with lots of juicy cherry character and a soft, sweet spice finish. Wonderful claret from a family owned Chateau, made in amphora clay vessels, giving texture and structure to the wine.

Palo cortado is a special type of sherry that starts its life and maturation under protective flor, destined to become a fino or amontillado. Partway through the maturation it loses its veil of flor and begins oxidative ageing as an oloroso sherry would.

This combined maturation results in a wine with some of the richness of oloroso and some of the freshness of amontillado. It is a rare beverage though as just 1 to 2% of the grapes pressed for sherry naturally develop into palo cortado.

A very full-flavoured sherry with fruit intensity and concentration on the nose and palate. Lots of dried fruit with light toffee sweetness and oak caramel. Delicious!

The history of Bodegas Álvaro Domecq dates back to 1730, but it was in 1850 that the infamous Senora Pilar Aranda established her winery. She was the first woman winemaker in the Marco de Jerez and also the first to be elected Capataz de Honor de la Vendemia. In 1999, Álvaro Domecq Romero took charge of this mythical Jerez winery and today, current winemaker Ana Real upholds Pilar's commitment to the Jerez tradition, and produces some of this stunning region's most sought-after wines.

The nose has layers of citrus and stone fruit aromas, and hints angelica, acacia flower and allspice. Flavours of lemon, yellow apple and nectarine follow through onto an elegant, balanced palate with delicate notes of greengage, papaya, yellow apple and passion fruit. The wine is light to medium bodied, with a fleshy texture and vibrant, integrated acidity.

The blend is composed of signature white varieties from each property: Semillon, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, and Viognier. Semillon, matured in oak, provides structure and age-worthiness-drawing on Boekenhoutskloof's long-standing reputation for this grape. Old bush vine Chenin Blanc from the Swartland adds depth, texture and opulence, while cool-climate Chardonnay brings lift and precision. Viognier lends a subtle aromatic richness.

Tim Atkin's review: A new addition to the consistently impressive Boekenhoutskloof range, this is a pan-regional blend of Swartland Chenin Blanc complemented by 24% Chardonnay, 19% Semillon and 4% Viognier from elsewhere. Inspired by the whites of the southern Rhône, it's stony, savoury and lightly wooded, with aromas of laurel, thyme and white flowers and a palate of pear, citrus, peach and wet stones. Deep garnet  colour with flecks of pomegranate. Sweet strawberry, meaty and smokey tar aromas with black cherries and ripe wild berries. Full-bodied and concentrated with round and silky tannins. Juicy, long and savoury finish.

Undicicomuni" refers to the 11 (undici) communes (comuni) that make up the Barolo appellation, the Nebbiolo grapes for this wine come from across all 11 communes. Fermentation and maceration takes place for three weeks in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. Then there is 26 months of aging in large wooden casks followed by a further 6 months in concrete tanks.

Bright straw yellow colour with golden flecks. On the nose: complex, white floral jasmine notes and minerals. On the palate, it is creamy and savoury, with flavours of ripe pear, herbs and minerality, alongside its crisp acidity.

An excellent example of cool climate Riesling. Elegant aromas of ripe lime, wax and stone fruit on the nose. On the palate, lots of ripe stone fruits again and a long, zesty finish.

Perlato del Bosca means the Pearl of the forest, reffering in this case to the famous white marble of Carrara in Tuscany, not to the white truffles.

An elegant white Burgundy with aromas of vanilla, toast, fresh almonds and blossom, this wine is very supple and nicely balanced with a creamy butteriness and good length. Beautifully complex and fine.

Brick red colour. Pronounced nose of sultanas, dried apricot and raspberry, and a touch of spice. The palate is rich and complex with layers of dried fruits, butterscotch, hazelnut, spice and cinnamon. Full and generous on the finish.

This wine will benefit from being served slightly chilled (12 - 16ºC). It doesn't need to be decanted , and it's worth noting that colheitas can be enjoyed for a while after opening without losing freshness and vibrancy - optimum drinking time after opening is 2-3 months. 

Liatiko is an indigenous Cretan grape variety , light ruby/garent in colour. The nose has a rich, ripe red fruit and sweet spice character. The palate is full, but has very soft tannins. 

Under organic conversion, this is a pale, shimmering ruby, hedonistic, unoaked light -coloured red with gorgeous perfumed, strawberry and raspberry liqueur notes, hints of game and fennel. Plump vibrant fruits, a refreshing thread of fine-pitched acidity, poised slightly grippy yet elegant tannins - hard to resist.

A delicious Canarian white flecked with quince, orange blossom, smoke, creamy yet fresh with hints of salt. Poised, elegant and textured with a very long mineral and saline finish.

Food match: Grilled tuna steak with potato salad and Mediterranean roast vegetables. 

The grapes come from different locations on the island: La Geria, Masdache, and an estate located in Tisalaya. This wine is meant to reflect the island, its diverse landscapes, and the work of the different vine growers on their small plots, with vines from 10 to over 100 years old utilised.

A variety of production methods were used here, from direct pressing to maceration with skins, depending on the state of the grapes (health and ripeness). Some batches, after temperature controlled alcoholic fermentation with natural yeasts, underwent malolactic fermentation. Ageing is in stainless steel, resting for 10 months on lees, and bottles without filtration.

The 2021 Barbaresco is a gorgeous, deep wine. Although the aromatics are a bit
closed, the 2021 shows gorgeous depth and a touch more palate presence than is
typically the case for this bottling. Dark and enveloping, the 2021 will offer a number
of years of very fine drinking. It is an impressive, classy wine from Produttori del
Barbaresco.
