Amphora wines are in fashion these days and are produced all over the world. While making wines in amphora (qvevri) may have originated in Georgia , it is Portugal that has the world’s only appellation dedicated to wines made in amphora. In Alentejo, these vessels go by the name “talha”. It is derived from the Latin word “Tinalia” which refers to a large pot or vessel. 

Portuguese wine from amphora in Alentejo dates back to Roman times, around 2000 years ago. Although the traditions have persisted in the region, it’s only recently that the wines have had a commercial renaissance. Many of the wineries, big and small, have added Vinho de Talha wines to their portfolio.

The Inzuzo Wine Company is a BEE project spearheaded by Journey's End wines in Stellenbosch and run by one of their talented winemakers, Kaylin Willscott. Kaylin grew up in the poverty stricken Sir Lowry's Pass area. Kaylin's story is integral to the heart of the Inzuzo brand. As a Cape Wine Guild protégée and one of the few women of colour winemakers in South Africa, her journey is a powerful narrative of talent, determination, and community upliftment in South Africa.

Clear gold in colour. The aroma is light, clean with citrus notes. It`s medium-dry, has a medium level of acidity, light to medium in body. On the palate it`s fresh with stone fruit and citrus notes.

Tsiakkas Winery is located in Pelendri village in Limassol region. Costas Tsiakkas established the winery in 1988 which he runs with his wife Maria. They own 5 hectares of mountainous vineyards which are located at an altitude of 1000-1400m. The winery emphasises the production of high quality wines from indigenous varieties.

Surprisingly, this variety is not actually related to Gruner Veltliner. An aromatic, spicy, full-bodied white wine with a fresh acidity slight nutty character. Round and viscous palate, with fleshy white peach character and a long finish.

Brouilly cru vineyards of the Beaujolais region are the most southern in the area and produce riper, more concentrated grapes. The wines therefore tend to be more robust and intense than their neighbouring villages such as Fleurie. This Gamay red is medium bodied and full of ripe black cherry and cocoa aromas and flavours.
