Great In Their Own Right:  For centuries Rhone reds were used to improve the colour of weedy Bordeaux and Burgundy wines. It became so common that Medoc wines that had been hermitage had the highest price. Today the practice is completely illegal and the finest Rhone wines are finally receiving the respect they deserve.

From the Euganei hills in Veneto, Pinot Nero vines were planted by the Biscardo family over 20 years ago in volcanic soils, rich in minerals and clay. These characters are found in their Rosapasso: a smooth, fresh and structured rosé, light salmon-pink in colour.

The wine has a deep purple-red colour and intense aromas of blackberries and blueberries. The palate is soft and silky, bursting with spicy flavours of black pepper, dark chocolate, wild berries and vanilla.  The tannins are elegant yet persistent.  The finish is lingering and offers a burst of wild cherries at the end.

Fun Fact: Zensa in Italian means “without” referring to the absence of any chemicals or pesticides in the winemaking process. 

Appassimento is an Italian wine making style, where the harvested grapes are partially dried thereby concentrating the sugars, acidity, aromas and flavours.

This is a big and powerful red wine, very dark red in colour. The nose has plenty of dark fruit aromas, plums, black cherries, chocolate, dried fruit and slight herbaceous notes. The palate is full, dense and rich with intense and sweet, ripe fruit.  The finish is has a touch of residual sugar, giving some natural sweetness, and is full, rich and lingering.

The wine is vibrant with an alluring blend of fruit along with clove, pepper and cinnamon spice finished off with well-structured integrated tannins. Vinified from the local Tannat grape variety with some Cabernet Franc and Merlot, harvested fully ripe in October. In the winery the secret of modern rosé vinification is to capture all the delicate aromatics and flavours of red grape varieties but then to cool vinify the pale-coloured juice with all the expertise of white wine vinification.

Refreshing like a white wine, with the complexity of red wine. This orange wine is made by leaving the grape skins and seeds in contact with the pressed juice, creating a deep orange-hued finish. The wine ferments naturally without the addition of yeasts, sulphur or any other additions. The different varieties are then blended and before a natural cold stabilisation, and bottled unfiltered and unfined.
