The wines are made in Calabria in the toe of Italy’s boot, where native varieties reign supreme – Magliocco, Nerello, Mantonico, Greco and the region’s star grape, Gaglioppo.

The Cirò DOC is a picturesque corner of the Mediterranean, along the Ionian coast, in the eastern foothills of the Calabria region, a large peninsula that forms the toe to Italy’s boot. The Parrilla family, who own and run Tenuta del Conte, have been making wine here for four generations, the latest of which to take over the estate are Mariangela, Giuseppe, and Caterina.

In 2011 Mariangela Parrilla took over as winemaker. Mariangela takes a philosophical approach to winemaking, with the aim to let these traditional indigenous grape varieties speak for themselves and their terroir. Her wines are all organic, no herbicides or chemicals are used at any stage of the production process, she opts for spontaneous fermentations using indigenous yeasts, no filtration, and solely stainless-steel and bottle aging. Taking each wine vintage by vintage she lets them evolve and age “according to their own natural rhythm”, making each wine unique. This could be just one year in bottle before release or over 10 years. Not only does she capture the unique character of the grape variety but that of the vintage it's from too.

Together with a handful of other wineries in the area, Mariangela is part of “The Cirò Revolution”, a group formed to promote and protect their territory’s identity. They are dedicated to organic viticulture and minimal intervention wine making, they make traditional wines, in homage to their ancestors, from native grape varieties.

Intense ruby-red colour with a complex bouquet reminiscent of prunes, cherries and redcurrants.  The oak ageing adds a pleasant roasted and spicy aroma. On the palate it is full-bodied, supple and well-balanced with a long finish.

Giuaani Winery is located in the historic village of Manavi, the heartland of Georgian wine producing region, Kakheti. The Manavi village, cradled by the southern slopes of the minor Caucasus, is a home to one of the 29 PDOs (Protected Denomination of Origin) of Georgia. Its unique soil composition and microclimate provides perfect conditions for vine cultivation, especially for the Kakhuri Mtsvane grape variety, and for the production of Manavi PDO white dry wines.

A spicy nose with vegetal (nettle and mint) and balsamic varietal notes. A balanced structure with good savoury character and fresh acidity. It is produced exclusively in stainless steel to preserve its characteristic fresh notes.

This wine has an attractive shiny light ruby colour. It is both refined and very bright on the nose and palate. It opens to aromas of red fruits and berries. Its silky tannins support the balance of a wine, such that it can be kept for some time (5 to 7 years) while remaining pleasant in its youth.

Pinot Noir is the heritage of Red Burgundy. The pinot noir grape was born in Burgundy and has carried the name since 1375. Pinot Noir is the hereditary source to all of the great red wines from Burgundy vineyards. Pinot Noir is jealously desired, but it is fragile and it requires very careful care during its vegetative period.

An intense dark red colour. Elegant and fruity, with aromas and flavours of blackcurrant berries, ripe plums, chocolate and pepper notes. A balanced and concentrated wine well mixed with fruit, round and silky mouth and a long finish.

Twenty year old vines from their the Morandina vineyard near the Lessini mountains is at 450 metres altitude. Soils are limestone, calcareous and the site has a south-easterly exposure.It is a blend of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella, plus a tiny bit of Oseleta, the vine shoots are cut allowing the grapes to dry for a month on the vine before harvesting. After fermentation the wine is aged for 18 months in barrel.

Light, juicy and fruity red for chilling. Perfect for picnics or summer drinks in your out door space.

Savoury and elegant wine coming from vineyards of more than 20 years located at the core of the village Nukriani in Signaghi area. Kakheti. Georgia. 

Budeshuri Saperavi is a distinct bio-type of Saperavi , native to the Kakheti region. It is traditionally cultivated in small plots for its aromatic refinement and natural balance. The name “Budeshuri” is believed to reference its historical origin in the Budeshe area near Telavi. Compared to the more widespread Saperavi Didi (large-berried clone), Budeshuri has smaller berries and thinner skins, resulting in wines of greater concentration, finesse, fragrance, and precision.

Deep ruby red in colour. An intense nose with aromas of both fruit and aromatic herbs. The palate is fresh, elegant and complex, revealing notes of sweet spice. The wine is concentrated and rich, with a smooth palate and long finish.
