Family Story

A boutique French winery, Domaine Besson, is family owned and operated by Camille Besson and her brother Adrien, fourth generation winemakers. The estate has 21 hectares of vines that make wines for four Chablis AOC appellations: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Chablis Premier Cru and Chablis Grand Cru. Adrien is the viticulturalist and vineyard manager while Camille is the winemaker.

Exuberantly fresh on the palate with ripe mango fruit, a slightly salty edge and underlying minerality.

Cave de l'Ormarine is an award winning Cave producing wines from the tiny Pinet appelation in the Herault. Set up in 1992, bit with a history dating back to 1922 Cave de l'Ormarine has made significant investment in the winery and prides itself on the high standards and traceability of its grapes.

Pale Lemon Colour. Aromas of green apple and citrus fruits. On the palate has fruit and mineral notes, very interesting texture and balanced acidity. Fresh and lingering finish. We love this wine!

Granja Amareleja vineyards are located in the left bank of Guadiana River, where the soils are sandy and the temperatures the highest in Alentejo reaching >40C. Moreto grape variety is the ex-libris of the viticulture here, where it continues to be cultivated, mostly, ungrafted (“Pé-Franco”). Perhaps for this reason its wines are so aromatic, balanced and distinct.

Full of zest and forward fruity flavours, typical of the Sauvignon grape. Bursting with exotic tropical fruit.

Rod McDonald is a New Zealand winemaking legend who arrived in Hawke's Bay 25 years ago as a green cellar hand. Following a stint at Villa Maria he became winemaker at Vidal before setting off on a solo adventure to craft the most compelling and exciting wines from the wide variety of soils throughout the region. 
Rod has chosen to farm organically to allow his wines to really represent both the land the grapes are grown on and the people who make them.

'From there, I went to Pegasus Bay, and it was here that I was so impacted. This is an iconic Riesling producer—Rieslings worth crossing the ocean for. They age slowly and gracefully, employ botrytis as a textural aid and are thundering examples of Riesling from New Zealand. I can’t overstate that. These are collectors’ wines. I have seen older examples in Australia over the years, served blind, that have taken the room by storm. Pegasus Bay Riesling Bel Canto 2022 – 94 points.

The 2022 Bel Canto Dry Riesling leads with loquat, kumquat and orange rind. In the mouth, the wine is floral, detailed and full—it is actually quite wide, spreading to all corners of the mouth, leaving a trail of fine chalky texture in its wake. Really good. Hand harvested and completely destemmed, the wine was fermented and aged in the amphoras in contact with skins and lees. The inside of our amphoras is coated with natural tree resin according to the ancient process used by the Romans 2000 years ago. The wine has not been filtered or stabilised.

Rich, ripe and full of mulberry fruit character with a silky round tannic structure. Beautifully made low intervention wine.

Incrocio Bruni 54 is a crossing by pollenation of Sauvignon Blanc and Verdicchio which was done in 1936 by Professor Bruno Bruni while working for the Italian Ministry of Agriculture. It is only found in the Marche region and Tenuta Santi Giacomo e Filippo are championing it as Marche's flagship grape. Rightly so!

Wonderfully aromatic on the nose a notes of blackcurrant leaf, stone fruit and green apple together with hints of fynbos and seaweed, sea air and vanilla. Rich, layered and long on the palate with a wonderful, saline finish. An elegant, well balanced blend of Sauvignon and Semillon expressing the Darling Hills minerality and terroir.

The Seasalter is a blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Semillon with 30% of the Sauvignon Blanc fermented and aged for 8 months in 300 litre French Oak barrels. The remaining juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks and left on it's lees adding weight and complexity.

The Elgin Valley is one of the coolest regions in South Africa and is famous for making wonderfully refreshing and classy white wines.

Fragrance of pure white grapefruit, intense tropical fruit, ripe gooseberry and fleshy kiwi fruit over-lay Iona’s distinctive herbal and floral undertone. The palate is keenly balanced showing cut green apples and lime marmalade followed by great minerality and length.

At 420m above sea-level, set high above the picturesque Elgin Valley, Iona includes some of the coolest vineyards in the Cape. This creates an extremely long growing season, harvesting up to 2 months after Stellenbosch, which results in diverse, complex flavours and fresh, elegant wines. The philosophy at Iona is to make wines that reflect the soil and climate as closely as possible. They make use of sustainable farming methods and use natural products wherever possible in the winemaking.

Fresh, zippy and zesty from native Portuguese grape Fernão Pires. Medium lemon yellow in colour. On the nose: citrus and pear, mineral, developed petrol notes and
hints of the wood. The palate is dry, firm and intense. Well structured, good texture, clean
and fresh. Long and moreish finish.

Tenuta Olim Bauda is one of Piedmont's top producers, run by the Bertolino Family since the 1960's. After Sr. Bertolino died in 1985, the winery shut for 15 years. But in 2000, his 3 children bought back what was sold off and have successfully revived the estate and the Tenute Olim Bauda name.

Evro originates from Rallo’s exceptional estate vineyards in Alcamo, in one of Sicilia’s premier growing areas. Pale yellow to straw yellow with light green reflections. The bouquet shows citrusy notes and marked apple scent. There is a distinct minerality on the palate – a trademark of Rallo’s wines – with rich mouth-feel and persistent finish. This is a seductive wine.
