Biscuity brioche on the nose with delicate white flower and full fruit. Citrus, red apple and 'Leesy' characters add complexity to the palate. 10% of the wine is fermented in aged oak barrels and the wine is then aged for 36 months on it's lees. Gorgeous, toasty and rich.

Lawrence started his career as an automotive engineer in the exciting world of Formula One. Having left Formula One, to set up an engineering consultancy, the search for the perfect vineyard site began. The search  was a lengthy and dedicated one - as the ideal combination of soils, aspect, slope, altitude and microclimate was difficult to find. After two years he found the site at Herstmonceux, East Sussex. The vineyard was planted in May 2007, with the winery following in 2009.

Gardner Street Classic has the classic floral, elderflower note we have come to know of contemporary Bacchus married with a touch of stone fruit from the Chardonnay. On the palate there's an abundance of red apple fruit, a touch of wild fennel with the barrel fermented Chardonnay giving mid palate weight and structure to a wine that ultimately finishes with a brisk, present acidity.

Gardner Street is the historic name of Henners’ home village of Herstmonceux. The old name captures the hand-harvested, artisanal craft of tending vines and wines down English country lanes. A modern marriage of fresh, floral Bacchus with a little barrel-fermented Chardonnay.

When it comes to English wine there’s a lot to shout about, not least the stunning sparkling wines from Henners. Based just 4 miles from the sea in Herstmonceux, East Sussex, the 10 acre vineyard was created in 2007 by ex-Formula One engineer, Lawrence Warr. Planted with traditional champagne varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, the vines thrive in an idyllic microclimate created by the vineyard’s proximity of the sea, low altitude (only 24 masl) and steep sunny south facing slopes. All Henners wines are hand-crafted from start to finish; with separate fermenting of varietals and their vine clones to allow a broader range of wines for final blending, extended lees ageing for added complexity, and holding back of all bottles for at least 4 years prior to release to add depth and richness. Henners – exclusive English Sparkling Wines of the finest quality. Crafted with every attention to detail, they are a perfect accompaniment to any occasion.

Hazel End on vines Muller Thurgau, Huxelrebe and Reichensteiner were planted in 1990-1993, their Bacchus vines were planted in 2009.

This delicious English sparkling wine is pretty much equal quantities of Chardonnay , Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier with 15% Reserve Wine from previous vintages going right back to 2010.

It was disgorged in late 2021 after four years on the lees. It still has plenty of room for development and will continue to improve for five or more years.

Crisp, vibrant, lemon citrus with intense buttery, toasted vanilla notes. Fermentation was carried out using a mix of wild and Burgundy yeasts in 2 year old French oak and stainless steel, adding a rich mouthfeel, excellent body and notes of ripe stone fruit, brioche and honey. Wonderful lingering finish.

2016 started off with fairly good weather and a mild spring which led to budburst around the normal time in mid-April. However wet and cool weather in May and June disrupted flowering somewhat, which impacted fruit set and reduced overall yields. The unpredictable weather continued through July and into early August, but was followed by warm, sunny weather that continued through September and October enabling the grapes to develop intense flavour and concentration. Sugars and acids were perfect for making quality English sparkling wine and the fruit was of exceptional quality so we decided it was a Vintage year. Blended from 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir, the Chardonnay delivers excellent structure and vibrancy, while the Pinot Noir brings body and depth to deliver great roundness on the palate. Our Vintage spends 4 years on lees before release.

Rich and expressive, with layers of dark red fruits, cherry, blackberry and plum, complemented by subtle notes of nutmeg, cooked strawberry, red apple and almond. Extended lees ageing contributed to a fine creaminess and structural weight, enhancing complexity and leading to a clean, dry finish.

Produced only in exceptional vintages this Blanc de Blancs is a blend of 100% chardonnay. Aged on lees for a minimum of 36 months our Blanc de Blancs typifies the linear purity of this classic style. Selected from the finest lots of Chardonnay, ensuring that the wine has the fruit character, structure and elegance required for extended ageing. Only 5,000 bottles produced.
