The Estate Grown Morning Fog Chardonnay is named for the morning coastal fog pushed by Pacific wind streams into the bowl of the San Francisco Bay. This daily phenomenon moderates the climate to produce excellent, beautifully balanced Chardonnay.

50% barrel fermented in neutral American oak barrels. 50% fermented in stainless steel tanks. Barrel fermented portion was aged sur lie for 5 months. Bâtonnage, the art of stirring the barrels, was performed monthly. Stainless steel portion was half aged on lees for 5 months while the other half was racked clean to preserve the fresh fruit characters.

A balanced and juicy Zin, that stays true to the variety without being too rich and opulent. Aromas and flavours of blueberry and blackberry fruit combine with cocoa spice and raisin notes.

Since 1883, five generations of our family have handcrafted fine wines that express
the very best of our vineyards and winemaking expertise. Our Beyer Ranch has
historically been a premier location for Zinfandel. The vineyards are planted
on carefully selected sites of sloping benches that lead to the banks of the Arroyo
del Valle and Arroyo Mocho streams. Grapes from these Zinfandel vineyards
produce luscious wines with deep richness.

Each variety was fermented separately in upright stainless steel fermenters and
pumped over twice daily. The wine was pressed on the skins after 7-12 days.
The wine was aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels for 14
months.

Aromatic nose of warm baking spice, with notes of cinnamon and star anise. Rich dark fruits, including blackberries, black currants, and black plums, along with a hint of chocolate.

The palate is bold, but with beautifully balanced tannins enhance the wine’s natural richness, while a refreshing streak of acidity ensures a vibrant, beautifully balanced finish.

Rob Fischer, a Napa native, started his winemaking career at Domaine Carneros then Donum estate, Etude, Lyric and Beaulieu Vineyards. Along with owner Baron Ziegler they built a strong network of relationships in Sonoma County and in 2014, when they were offered a parcel of grapes that weren’t going into production, Valravn was born. Today Valravn has spread its wings finding a vineyard parcel here and a row there to craft quintessential Sonoma County wines that are out of the gate approachable, delicious and ready to drink.
