Bodega Malma is owned by the Viola family, pioneers of the whole sub region of San Patricio del Chañar, and passionate about Patagonia and its terroirs. Together with consulting Enologist Hans Vinding-Diers, we have outlined a product portfolio and are researching on the potential of every micro terroir for different varieties.
Soil: Ancient Pleistocene terrace. Soils are not very deep and well drained. Coarse fragments.
Vineyards: Planted in 2001. Precipitation: 200 mm/year Drip irrigation.
Thermal amplitude: 20° C.
Alcoholic Fermentation: 14 days, traditional, temperature controlled between 26º-28ºC. Aging: 20% of the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 9 months.
