Family Story

A boutique French winery, Domaine Besson, is family owned and operated by Camille Besson and her brother Adrien, fourth generation winemakers. The estate has 21 hectares of vines that make wines for four Chablis AOC appellations: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Chablis Premier Cru and Chablis Grand Cru. Adrien is the viticulturalist and vineyard manager while Camille is the winemaker.

This wine represents phenomenally good value for money. Ripe stone fruit and toasted oak aromas with concentrated peach and citrus flavours.

A clean wine, with plenty of aromatic intensity, fresh and mineral. On the nose it is floral and citrus-like. Notes of white flowers and fruits, lemon blossom and peaches. On the palate, it has a soft start, a good persistence, unctuous with balanced acidity, round with good concentration.

After visiting Argentina in 1989, Californian trail-blazer Paul Hobbs became deeply interested in both the terroir and Argentine culture, noticing the unique potential for Malbec and other varietals in the region. After meeting two kindred spirits, Andrea Marchiori and Luis Barraud, they founded Viña Cobos in 1997 and since then there has been no looking back. Picture the scene…a sunny late afternoon, the smell of barbecues beginning to waft through the air and the chorus of lawnmowers are finally drawing to an end, your thoughts turn to that first drink of the evening. Vinho Verde.



This wine comes from Adega Ponte de Barca who were founded in 1963 right in the middle of Vinho Verde. A region itself with over 2000 years of winemaking history.

The winery commits itself to the principle that ‘the origin counts’ and being inspired by this history they work with wine growers to produce scintillating, fresh wines that helped put the region on the map.

Fresh and complex with notes of white peach, almonds and a hint ripe papaya. Expressive on the palate with a lingering finish.

You might have heard of the quaint beach town of Hermanus, situated on South Africa’s
famous Whale Coast. Between 1855 and 1902, it was called Hermanuspietersfontein. In
1902, the local postmaster decided to shorten the name of the town to make addressing
letters to the locals easier.

150 years later, the wine farm Hermanuspietersfontein, or HPF for short, craft outstanding wines with a serious sense of place. Their grapes come from Sondagskloof (they produce 90% of WO Sondagskloof wine), which competes with Elgin and the Ceres Plateau for South Africa’s coolest wine growing region. This area is perfectly suited to Bordeaux varietals and, with the exception of Shiraz, is exclusively planted with them.
The Afrikaans wine names might look like a bit of a mouthful, but they are good fun;
Bloos (‘blush’), Kaalvoet Meisie (‘barefoot girl’), Kat Met Die Houtbeen (‘cat with the
wooden leg’), Posmeester (‘postmaster’), Kleinboet (‘little brother’) and Swartskaap
(‘black sheep’).

Fresh, crisp, aromatic. Zippy and zesty, classic Vinho Verde with a slight spritz, just the way we love it!
