Pinot Noir

From a cool, high altitude (390m) monopole vineyard, this is a fresher take on the 2020 vintage compared to most. A crunchy and aromatic Pinot Noir with layers of redcurrant and cranberry intertwined with some darker mulberry fruit and well integrated oak. Lovely to drink now or over the next 5 to 8 years.

This wine has an attractive shiny light ruby colour. It is both refined and very bright on the nose and palate. It opens to aromas of red fruits and berries. Its silky tannins support the balance of a wine, such that it can be kept for some time (5 to 7 years) while remaining pleasant in its youth.

Pinot Noir is the heritage of Red Burgundy. The pinot noir grape was born in Burgundy and has carried the name since 1375. Pinot Noir is the hereditary source to all of the great red wines from Burgundy vineyards. Pinot Noir is jealously desired, but it is fragile and it requires very careful care during its vegetative period.

The bright notes of red fruit with a little bit of cocoa and earth. You will taste raspberries, spices and cranberries.

A wonderful new addition to our range of English wines. Husband and wife team Umut and Katie Yesil manage their Essex vineyard with a low-intervention and sustainable approach. They don’t use herbicides and manage the vineyard mechanically rather than chemically where possible, to protect soil health and biodiversity which is hugely important to them. 

If tasted blind, you would never in a million years guess that this wine was English! Perfumed, vibrant, juicy Pinot with violets, lavender, cherries, rhubarb, cinnamon, and pepper. Smooth and silky with a long finish. Excellent.
