This wine has an attractive shiny light ruby colour. It is both refined and very bright on the nose and palate. It opens to aromas of red fruits and berries. Its silky tannins support the balance of a wine, such that it can be kept for some time (5 to 7 years) while remaining pleasant in its youth.

Pinot Noir is the heritage of Red Burgundy. The pinot noir grape was born in Burgundy and has carried the name since 1375. Pinot Noir is the hereditary source to all of the great red wines from Burgundy vineyards. Pinot Noir is jealously desired, but it is fragile and it requires very careful care during its vegetative period.

Champagne must age for a minimum of 15 months before release. Gremillet age all their Rosé Champagnes for a minimum of 22 months to ensure that the wines are not too young and have married all the elements.

From a cool, high altitude (390m) monopole vineyard, this is a fresher take on the 2020 vintage compared to most. A crunchy and aromatic Pinot Noir with layers of redcurrant and cranberry intertwined with some darker mulberry fruit and well integrated oak. Lovely to drink now or over the next 5 to 8 years.

Domaine Regnard’s Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc is 100% Chardonnay, grown on clay limestone soils rich in iron oxide, lending mineral tension and structure. Hand-harvested fruit undergoes fermentation and full malolactic conversion in oak, with 12 months’ ageing (40% new) followed by three months in stainless steel.

'Great value' and 'white Burgundy' are not two phrases that normally go together.. but hunt through the Maconnais and there are amazing finds such as this one.

A light, fresh and fruity Chardonnay in the Burgundian style, with a perfect balance of concentration, acidity and minerality. Refreshing and very quaffable!

Owned and run by Lawrence Warr, Henners is the result of a long term dream to produce the finest English Sparkling Wine. Lawrence started his career as an automotive engineer in the exciting world of Formula One. Having left Formula One, to set up an engineering consultancy, the search for the perfect vineyard site began. The search  was a lengthy and dedicated one - as the ideal combination of soils, aspect, slope, altitude and microclimate was difficult to find. After two years he found the site at Herstmonceux, East Sussex. The vineyard was planted in May 2007, with the winery following in 2009.

2016 started off with fairly good weather and a mild spring which led to budburst around the normal time in mid-April. However wet and cool weather in May and June disrupted flowering somewhat, which impacted fruit set and reduced overall yields. The unpredictable weather continued through July and into early August, but was followed by warm, sunny weather that continued through September and October enabling the grapes to develop intense flavour and concentration. Sugars and acids were perfect for making quality English sparkling wine and the fruit was of exceptional quality so we decided it was a Vintage year. This vintage spent 4 years on lees before release.

On the nose it has creamy black cherry, wood smoke, dried rose petal, incense, wild spice. On the palate it is seductive, lush, minerally, layered and complete, with a multidimensional core, considerable concentration and energy. This is a serious Beaujolais with the finesse and structure of a fine Burgundy.
