Vineyards are in the Hautes Côtes, at the top of the slopes just above Domaine de la Motte's Chablis classified plots and so achieve good ripeness. The soil is Portlandian, which is less chalky than Kimmeridgian, and typically produces wines which are less mineral and more fruity, well suited to earlier drinking. Having said that, Motte’s wine has real finesse with good fruit character – very much their house style. Cool-fermented in stainless steel, malolactic fermentation is also in stainless steel and the wine is unoaked.

Dark almost black in colour, with an intense dark berry fruit aroma of blackberries. Powerful, concentrated and full bodied. Structured, but smooth and velvety on the palate, combining well the matured fruit and the oak from 3 months ageing in wood. Moreish, elegant and complex, a long finish.

A classic varietal nose of jasmine, white peach and fruit blossom, with a whiff of white pepper. The palate is generous, and richly flavoured balanced by bright, zimgy acidity and with a gingery, textural finish.

Light yellow-straw. The nose is reminiscent of apricot, peach and quince with hints of litchi and cardamom. Citrus and stone fruit follow on the palate rounded by subtle oak and punchy lime acidity. The finish is long and dry. Medium to full bodied.

Lemon yellow in colour. A fruity and intense nose, with hints of ripe bananas and tropical fruit like guava and kiwi. The palate is dry, medium-bodied, balanced with a long finish. A great example of elegant, unoaked Chardonnay from Northern Italy.

A new Cellar Door Wines favourite! The lesser known Susumaniello grape is native to the South Italian region of Puglia. We love it for its rich aromas of blackcurrants, cherry and cranberry. On the palate it has ripe black cherry fruit with savoury notes of black olive and tomato with a sweet cocoa powder finish.

Food pairing: Rich stews, beef lasagne or roast lamb or lamb tagine with Mediterranean grilled vegetables.

Textured and delightfully sippable, this orange wine is incredibly accessible, immediately greeting your senses with aromas of ripe peach and apricot. Naturally fermented and macerated on the skins with twice-daily punch downs to increase flavour and texture, before being put through a basket press. Once pressed, this juice is left to settle in tank before being transferred to concrete eggs and flexcubes, then into bottle. This is all about marrying the technique of skin maceration with brilliant drinkability to give a South African wine that’s textured and delicious.

Inky, dark purple in colour. The nose is pure and concentrated with aromas ripe dark fruit, violets and blackberry. Very well balanced palate with fresh acidity, ripe and supple tannin,  dark stone fruits, juicy yet concentrated with a very long finish. This wine will age well for 5-10 years if you can keep it that long!

Patricio Pereyra Pato is the owner and visionary of Bodegas Don Rosendo, Lujan de Cuyo A small estate with organic vineyards in some of the best sub-regions of Mendoza (including La Consulta and Agrelo) and with the superb Gabriela Zavala leading the winemaking, the quality is astonishingly high.

Subtle vanilla and spice along with delicate aromas of peach and orange are complimented by savoury, peppery notes on the palate. Serve as an aperitif or with light salmon or chicken dishes with nutty grains.

Made from biodynamically farmed Verdejo grapes this orange wine from La Mancha is fermented with ambient yeasts on the skins for 10 days and aged in very large French oak vats for 6 months. The wine is only partially filtered and has an attractive cloudy amber colour. Lees aging helps round out the wine, creating a smooth and complex finished wine.

The wine is made using classic technology from Rkatsiteli, Mtsvane, Khikhvi and Kisi grape varieties grown in the Tsinandali microzone, Kakheti, Georgia. The aroma is lively and bright. The wine is dry, full-bodied, characterized by minerality, balanced acidity, hints of oak and a long finish. Recommended serving temperature: 10 to12 °C
