Natural Mystic D.O.C. Vinho Verde 2022
Regular price £15.95Decanter.com
"Talc-edged, with lime flower and zesty lemon and lime aromatics. Ticking the classic boxes, it is (just) off-dry, with slight petillance. Deftly balanced residual sugar (4.4g/l) gently softens the edges, without detracting from its juiciness.
Sourced from around Amarante, well inland, the fruit intensity (citrus with delicate nectarine bite) makes for a friendly style with a zippy finish. Still going strong on day two - a testament to quality fruit."

Jamie Goode - Wine Anorak: It’s not common to find organic Douro reds, partly because of the issues with weed control on terraced vineyards. But this one, from Kopke, is really good. It has a beautifully floral nose showing expressive cherry and berry fruits as well as a hint of olive. The palate is fresh and supple with bright raspberry and cherry fruit with some cured meat character and also some wild herbs, but always with emphasis on the fruit. A really impressive Douro red with great balance and nice structure as well as alluring fruit. Tastes of its place. 93/100

Douro Discovery Case of 6 Quinta da Pedra Alta
Regular price £138.70 Sale price £120.00The Douro Valley has been the home of Port for centuries. More recently, many Quinta or wine estates have been turning their hand to making elegant and often long lived still red and white wine. Quinta da Pedra Alta is one of those producers. We have been very impressed with João Pires' modern winemaking techniques, capturing the potential of still wines from this beautiful country.
The Quinta da Pedra Alta (high stone) winery is located in Soutelinho Favaios near Alijó, in the Cima Corgo sub-region of the Douro Valley, Portugal. Quinta da Pedra Alta is the only vineyard in the Douro to have three granite markers (Marcos Pombalinos) on its property. These were awarded to the best land during the demarcation of the Port region in 1761. Winemakers Matt Gant and João Pires share the same vision when it comes to making wines: they endeavour to find the essence of what the land has to offer.
