Pelaverga is not a very widely grown grape variety, native to the Verduno commune in Piemonte. The soil in this area of the North West of Italy is rich in clay and gypsum crystals. ArnaldoRivera have hand harvest the rare Pelaverga grapes.

Coral pink in colour, this elegant medium dry rosé may well be summer in a bottle with its fragrances of gardenia, raspberry and lychee but its full palate makes it ideal for year round drinking. Linger over its fresh gooseberry and apple flavours and smooth finish with a hint of vanilla fudge.

WOW! What a stunning wine. One of the best wines from South Africa.

A full and rich wine with great depth of flavour and character. There are aromas and flavours of ripe apricots, honey and tropical fruit with a touch of vanilla oak and crisp citrus fruit.

David Trafford is one of South Africa’s most individual winemakers. David is completely self-taught, save for a few months working a vintage in St Emilion. By trade he is an architect but in 1983 he decided to plant a small vineyard for fun. In 1991 David turned his part-time hobby into a full-time career. More than twenty years on, he is one of South Africa’s most decorated winemakers.

This bone dry excellent example of Pouilly Fumé is elegant and well balanced with a light smoky aroma and a hint of gunflint and elderberry. It is wonderfully rich with aromas of nettles, gooseberry and minerals on the palate but balanced by good weight of lemony acidity and a full flinty finish. A wonderful Loire Valley white with layers of clean Sauvignon blanc fruit combined with added complexity due to the minerality derived from the soils.

David and Rita Trafford discovered the Sijnn land in Malgas in 2000. The soil and landscape reminded them of Portugal and they were immediately intrigued. A purchase agreement and 200 soil profiles later, 10 hectares were planted and the name Sijnn Wines was appropriated fittingly so as the word Sijnn; is derived from the Khoisan word meaning riverbank. Sijnn is on a plateau of slate and pebbles, about 15km from the southern oceans of Africa. A new winery was built at Malgas in time for the 2015 harvest. Most vineyards are on alluvial deposits on the Bokkeveld shale base – balancing intensity, structure and aromatic complexity and finesse. These very poor, complex soils encourage a deep root system, and low growth/ low yield giving intense, complex wines of character. “Low Profile” refers to 200+ profile holes dug to
determine the best sites to plant vines, and is a blend of earlier drinking vats.

Rich, complex and voluptuous Chenin stony soils, with a warm, dry climate and sea breeze unique to the Malgas region of South Africa. Fresh fruit and complex mineral  flavours, this wine carries on for a long time on the finish.
