Maison Chanzy is a highly respected Burgundian producer, their wines are a classical demonstration of premium vineyard sites in Côte Chalonnaise, Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits.
Their range has been carefully engineered by winemaker Max Blondelle, whose primary task is to create wines that eloquently communicate their respective terroir, whilst remaining hands-off in his approach. As such, Chanzy are one of the few Burgundy producers to achieve Haute Valeur Environnementale level 3; the most highly regarded certification for agriculture in France.
Pinot noir is the heritage of Red Burgundy. The pinot noir grape was born in Burgundy and has carried the name since 1375. Pinot noir is the hereditary source to all of the great red wines from Burgundy vineyards. Pinot noir is jealously desired, but it is fragile and it requires very careful care during its vegetative period.
Chanzy Rully Blanc 'Les Cailloux' 2020
Regular price £31.95Les Cailloux is a very stoney and limestone 40 year old vineyard of 1 hectare. Sitting at 340m above sea level on a plateau, the stones here are larger and not only provide a great mineral backbone to the wines, but also keep the grapes warm into the evening. The 2019 is excellent, very green, lean and with a hint of the grassy green notes one finds
in Riesling or Semillon. Great acidity and structure and should age very nicely. 15 months ageing in 228L barrels.
Country: France
Region: Burgundy
Grapes: Chardonnay
Food Match: Wonderful with rich lobster linguini
Chanzy Bourgogne Chardonnay Les Fortunés 2022
Regular price £25.95From Bouzeron and vineyards in the north of Rully, this is a playful, fruit-forward, beautifully balanced Chardonnay has good length and weight. This wine focusses on youthful, purity of fruit with minimal oak influence. Some tropical and attractive white peach flavours, lifted citrus and white flower. The second hand oak barrels can be felt in the mid-palate, however, the use of 1/3 stainless steel has cleverly retained the energy, freshness and brightness that makes this wine very appealing. It is a fantastic value white Burgundy.

An area previously overlooked for expressive Chablis, the Wengier wines have entered the world to much acclaim. Their careful attention to detail in the vineyards, which will be certified organic from 2023, along with long slow fermentations have resulted in a line-up of wines that is completely captivating.
Chanzy Mercurey Blanc 'Les Caraby' 2021

Hints of spice, orange zest apple strudel, and a great backbone of acidity make this a very delicious wine indeed.
