Els Vilˑlusionistes Equanim Blanc 2020

Vi brisat is the Catalan term for a white wine that has been fermented with skins – so it’s an orange wine… and one of the best examples we’ve seen. 30% Macabeu and 70% Garnatxa Blanco, a small portion of the grapes are left in an open amphora to start a spontaneous ferment before these grapes are then used to start the fermentation process in the other parcels. The skin-contact period lasts around 9 days after which pressing takes place and the must is transferred to stainless steel before blending. As you might expect, there is an awful lot going on here but there is a deft touch on display with lychee notes that nicely complement the unctuous quality of the wine.
