We are very happy to have got our hands on a few bottles of this limited edition of the first label of Rocca di Frassinello, celebrating the tenth anniversary of the inauguration (2007-2017) of their wine cellar designed by Renzo Piano and the fortieth anniversary (1977-2017) of the Beaubourg Museum in Paris, another masterpiece by the master Architect.

Rocca di Frassinello is the joint venture between Castellare di Castellina and Domaines Baron de Rothschild (Lafite), based in the Gavorrano region of Marema, Tuscany.

Rocca di Frassinello impresses for its polish and supremely elegant personality. Sweet red berries, roses and liquorice are among the aromas and flavours that emerge from this poised, polished red.

Country: Italy

Region: Tuscany

ABV: 13.5%

Grapes: Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine is from the Tuscany region of Italy and is a project between the famous French Bordeaux producer Lafite and the Italian producer Castellare. The winemaker from Baron Rothschild-Lafite, Christian Le Somme, visits once a month and, by working closely with Alessandro Cellai (from Castellare di Castellina) they are able to maintain the essential Italian character of Tuscany, through the plantings of Sangiovese combined with the power and mid-palate weight of Cabernet and Merlot.
