A great discovery for vintage Champagne lovers.

The nose is very powerful, dominated by aromas of fruit pastries, stewed apricot, and alluring aromas of sugared almond. The palate is generous and long, with more savoury flavours of pastry, that end on a spiced note of pepper and hint of aniseed.

Country: France

Region: Champagne, Aÿ

ABV: 12%

Grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir and a small amount of Chardonnay is planted in quintessential white chalk soils, and Andre’s approach is one of minimal intervention so the soils can fully express their potential. This wine is generous, rich and powerful as the reserve wine, which makes up about one fifth of the blend, has been aged on its lees in large oak Foudres to add complexity for up to 18 months, resulting in a palate that is full and persistent, with generous autolytic character, baked fruits and a fabulous spicy finish.

André Roger Grand Cru Champagne offers incredible value. Located in the village of Aÿ in the Grande Vallée de la Marne, arguably the best location for Grand Cru Champagne. This family-owned Estate, that has been making wine independently since 1876, is relatively small in size for Champagne but not in stature, as Andre’s wines are the benchmark for this esteemed village.
