A refreshing, aromatic and off dry white from the New Hall winery in Essex. -----
Pale lemon colour with gentle floral notes and a dash of cinnamon. Off dry, with a slight ‘spritz’, and fresh acidity, the palate is perfectly balanced with layers of rounded fruit. There is a depth to the wine and it will drink well for up to three years. Perfect as a refreshing aperitif.
New Hall is probably the best kept secret in the English Wine Industry, accounting for 25% of the entire UK crop and their grapes are in big demand from some of the biggest names in the English wine industry. Because of the age of the vines and special microclimate, New Hall make wines with real mineral richness and intensity. Even in difficult years like 2012, the wines are intense and ripe. The Bacchus is a real revelation.
