Les Cépages Oubliés Carignan Grenache Noir, Vieilles Vignes, Vin de France
Hunt around in the ‘wild’, less prestigious areas of France and there are some real treasures to be found
Soft and smooth, rich and chunky, this is a lovely French red. It has very natural flavours and aromas including a raspberry and cherry, hints of cloves with blackberry and custard. The palate is softer, slightly less intense, with refreshing acidity to the finish.
Grapes: 75% Carignan 25% Grenache
The vineyard is located between Nimes and Montpellier, on a small hill before the first mountains of Pic Saint-Loup to the north of Montpellier. Close to both the sea and the mountains, the site is warm during the day and cool at night. This location and the traditional and careful winemaking result in this great expression of ‘authentic French country’ in a bottle.
