Carema is high on the northern border of the alpine region Aosta in northern Piedmont. It is made of Nebbiolo grown on glacial soil in this high altitude region which creates powerful, perfumed wines with delicate fruit.
Luigi Ferrando's Black Label is only produced in the best vintages. The wine is fermented in steel tanks and aging takes place in barriques and tonneau for a minimum of 2 years. The wine must then be aged in bottle for a minimum of 3 years.
