A rare example of a 100% Malbec from the Bordeaux Region.
Rich, purple colour with a brooding, peppery nose. Lush cassis fruit on the palate, with spicy, aromatic and floral edges. Chocolate oak nicely melts into the background.
Region: Cotes de Bourg
Cotes de Bourg is an appellation of the Bordeaux region, producing primarily red wine, but also a small quantity of white. The Merlot grape dominates the vineyards here – it thrives in the areas with cooler, moist, clayrich soils, while Malbec does better in the gravel and sanddominant parts of the Cotes de Bourg. The wines are of a younger drinking style, but will also age reasonably well for five to ten years.
