Intense floral aromas combine with fruity notes of sweet Williams pear and fragrant
lemon. Perfectly balanced on the palate, with a lovely freshness underpinning the
green fruit flavours through to an aromatic and persistent finish.

The castle of Pomino is found in the Apennine Mountains to the east of Florence. Its
vineyard is the highest in Tuscany, at altitudes of up to 737 metres above sea level,
and it enjoys a fresh and well-ventilated microclimate. The Frescobaldi family first
planted Chardonnay here in 1855. After a century and a half, this variety has found
its ideal habitat and produces wines of extraordinary elegance, finesse and
minerality. The current vines have an average age of 21 years and are grown in
sandy, clay soils of good depth.
