Tim Atkin South Africa Special Report 2020
“Given that 80% of Boekenhoutskloof’s Syrah now hails from Porseleinberg (the
remainder is from Goldmine), it’s no surprise that this is such an impressive wine.
Fermented with 40% whole bunches, it’s subtle, scented and almost delicate, with
filigree tannins, rose petal top notes, some clove and nutmeg spice and a hint of oak.
2022-30” – 97 Points
Platter’s South African Wine Guide 2021
“Heady scents of plums & cherries mixed with fresh violets on 2018, showing vibrant
colour while lively acidity & polished tannins build on the palate. Whiffs of pepper
& coriander spice, juicy texture courtesy 40% wholebunch fruit. All old oak, no
distraction from fruit purity here. Swartland fruit, like 2017 (5 stars, 95 pts).”
