Asyla Compass Box
Waxy, vegetal, vanilla. This actually reminds me of a (really nice) Reposado Tequila.
Deeper in, a hint of lime juice or lemon peel. The aroma is sparse, but clean. A slight creaminess on the palate – certainly not thin. Vanilla returns, and a layer of cereal sweetness. Marshmallowy, vanilla custard, and cream soda flavors.
An extraordinary high-quality blend from maverick independent John Glaser, a man dedicated to the art of combining whiskies to produce an end result greater than the sum of its parts. Asyla was named for the plural of asylum, this is a thick, fruity offering from Compass Box.
