From one of the oldest vineyards in the village - the Merlot vines are over 60 years old. This makes the wine extremely concentrated with great black current and plum fruit characters and silky sweet tannins.

The Merlot grape dominates the vineyards here – it thrives in the areas with cooler, moist, clayrich soils, while Malbec does better in the gravel and sanddominant parts of the Cotes de Bourg. The wines are of a younger drinking style, but will also age reasonably well for five to ten years.
